MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 3 Formulating a Research Question and Hypothesis

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 3 Formulating a Research Question and Hypothesis Student Name Franklin University MTHD8004 Professor Name Date Formulating a Research Question and Hypothesis A nurse is a compassionate, understanding, and effective communicator. Emotional intelligence (EI), the capacity to identify, evaluate, and manage oneโ€™s and others’ emotions in the workplace, has gained prominence in nursing practice (Duguรฉ et al., 2021). This assignment examines how EI relates to patient outcomes, specifically care quality, patient satisfaction, and health outcomes. Topic โ€œHow Emotional Intelligence Influences Patient Outcomes in Nursing Practiceโ€ Research Questions How does emotional intelligence affect the standard of care the nurses give? How does emotional intelligence correlate with patient satisfaction? Does emotional intelligence training help nurses deliver better health outcomes? In what way does emotional intelligence play a role in the communication between nurses and patients in stressful conditions? Hypotheses Research Question 1 How does emotional intelligence affect the standard of care the nurses give? Null Hypothesis (Hโ‚€) Researchers have not found a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and the quality of care nurses provide. Alternative Hypothesis (Hโ‚) Nursesโ€™ use of emotional intelligence enhances the quality of service delivery. Research Question 2 How does emotional intelligence correlate with patient satisfaction? Null Hypothesis (Hโ‚€) There is no correlation between measured levels of EI and consequential patient satisfaction. Alternative Hypothesis (Hโ‚) If nurses display a higher level of emotional intelligence, then patients tend to be more satisfied. Research Question 3 Does emotional intelligence training help nurses deliver better health outcomes? Null Hypothesis (Hโ‚€) Emotional intelligence training for nurses has no difference in the health of the patients. Alternative Hypothesis (Hโ‚) There is a positive correlation between the nurses’ emotional intelligence training effectiveness and the programs’ favorable impact on patientsโ€™ health. Research Question 4 In what way does emotional intelligence play a role in the communication between nurses and patients in stressful conditions? Null Hypothesis (Hโ‚€) It is ascertained that emotional intelligence does not impact overall communication between the nurse and patient in critical situations. Alternative Hypothesis (Hโ‚) Emotional intelligence substantially improves nurse-patient communication in high-stress environments. Additional Hypotheses Hโ‚€:ย High levels of emotional intelligence are not associated with lower levels of burnout than low levels of emotional intelligence in nurses.ย ย  Hโ‚:ย The nurses with high levels of emotional intelligence had a significantly lower level of burnout than those with low levels of emotional intelligence. Hโ‚€:ย Emotional intelligence does not impact decreasing the medical errors in patientsโ€™ care.ย ย  Hโ‚:ย Emotional intelligence decreases the incidence of adverse events during patient care. Discussion The nurse should have high emotional intelligence in the nursing practice because it affects different patient care features. Highly emotionally intelligent nurses are better suited to confront difficult circumstances, communicate appropriately, and bring more to bedside care (Hurley et al., 2020). Consequently, patients are satisfied and less stressed, improving their health outcomes. In addition, emotional intelligence improves the perception of patients better and consequently increases relationships with patients (Sun et al., 2020). The study tests multiple hypotheses to provide comprehensive insights into emotional intelligence in nursing. Understanding these relationships further will enhance our knowledge of the topic and aid in developing strategies for incorporating emotional intelligence training into nursing education and professional development. MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 6 Research Proposal

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 6 Research Proposal

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 6 Research Proposal Student Name Franklin University MTHD8004 Professor Name Submission Date ย  Title The Impact of Telehealth on Patient Outcomes and Satisfaction in Rural Healthcare Settings Introduction Patients from rural areas experience several challenges including limited availability of medical facilities, dispersed healthcare professionals, and high costs of transport, which results in inadequate healthcare services for patients with chronic diseases (Mehta et al., 2022). There has been a realization of the gaps that exist in terms of reach, consultation, follow, and monitoring leading to the invention of telehealth which is an ideal method of consultation and follow-up.ย This research paper assesses the impact of telehealth on enhancing patient health outcomes and satisfaction and establishes cultural and technological gaps hindering the implementation of the technology. By highlighting the role of telehealth in rural healthcare delivery, this investigation seeks to make a useful contribution to the understanding of the role of telehealth for patient outcomes, chronic disease management, and healthcare equality, which will be important to healthcare executives, policymakers, and telehealth technologists. Purpose Statementย  This research proposes to assess the success of telehealth in enhancing the quality and satisfaction of patients living with chronic illnesses including diabetes, hypertension, and heart diseases in rural facilities. Concerning the circumstances of delivery of healthcare in those regions including lack of facilities, few professionals, and transport modalities, telehealth provides one of the ways for delivering care other than traditional face-to-face care (Schlief et al., 2022).ย Additionally, this study acknowledges the growing role of digital health technologies in bridging existing gaps in healthcare accessibility.ย This research will also determine the effectiveness of telehealth in promoting compliance with the recommended forms of treatment and the reduction of hospitalization rates, as the patient’s satisfaction with the quality, accessibility, and culturally appropriate of the offered telehealth services. In this research paper, the goals of the discoveries are to offer methodological recommendations that will help improve the practice of telehealth and guarantee that the healthcare needs of the citizens within rural regions are well met. Research Problem(s)ย  There is always a huge gap when it comes to basic healthcare needs among residents in rural areas. Lack of healthcare infrastructure, and scarcity of healthcare personnel, provide the victims little chance to control their diseases. High transportation costs and long travel distances to medical centers further worsen these challenges, creating delays in treatment and increasing health risks (Filip et al., 2022).ย This has led to the seeking of telehealth as a possible solution to provide remote healthcare services. An empirical assessment of the delivery model of telehealth further helps evaluate the feasibility, the constraints of the model, the appropriateness of delivering care through telehealth, and the quality of care offered to underserved rural populations. Research Questions and Hypothesesย  RQ1 How does telehealth impact patient health outcomes in rural areas? Hโ‚€ (Null Hypothesis): Telehealth has no significant impact on rural patient health outcomes. Hโ‚ (Alternative Hypothesis): Telehealth improves rural patient health outcomes. RQ2 How satisfied are patients in rural settings with telehealth services compared to in-person care? Hโ‚€ (Null Hypothesis):There is no difference in satisfaction between telehealth and in-person care. Hโ‚ (Alternative Hypothesis): Telehealth increases satisfaction due to improved accessibility and convenience. RQ3 What cultural or technological factors affect telehealth adoption in rural settings? Hโ‚€ (Null Hypothesis):Telehealth adoption in rural settings is not affected by cultural or technological factors. Hโ‚ (Alternative Hypothesis): Telehealth adoption in rural areas is influenced to a large extent by cultural and technological factors. Audiencesย  This studyโ€™s findings will be especially relevant to those who work in telehealth service developers, rural healthcare researchers, healthcare providers, and policymakers, among others. The evidence can be used by policymakers in developing policies that support the expansion of telehealth infrastructure as a means of providing care to underserved rural areas (Palozzi et al., 2020). The impact of telehealth on patient outcomes and satisfaction will be beneficial to healthcare providers and administrators to implement best practices and improve service delivery.ย  Relevant Theory, Concept, Or Practiceย  The basis of this study is Leiningerโ€™s Theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality and the Health Belief Model (HBM). The theory of Leininger is built on providing culturally sensitive care as per the patientโ€™s beliefs, values, and preferences.ย This is important in a rural area as cultural factors can lead to health-seeking behavior (Garcรญa et al., 2024). Cultural diversity is added to better meet the needs of the rural population with more acceptance and better use of telehealth services. To investigate patient perceptions of telehealth, the study is based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) (Holtz et al., 2024). This solves for which technology familiarity, trust, and accessibility affect the adoption and use of telehealth services.ย  Literature Reviewย  Rural communities have limited or no access to health facilities, and there are no specialized medical practitioners. Such communities face huge divides in terms of health care that includes care that is timely and that is effective. Airhihenbuwa et al. (2021) mentioned that for chronic condition types like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, one should receive continuous medical attendance. Along with geographic isolation, there are also more health inequities, which makes people poorer in health outcomes and higher in hospitalization rates. These disparities need to be addressed using innovative entry into care delivery in underserved rural settings to go around the logistical barriers to care. Studies show that telehealth presents a way to address the imbalance in access to health care by people in rural areas because the approach embraces consultations, observation, and subsequent check-ups from a distance. Telehealth has been found to remove the traditional barriers relating to geography and cost (Nittari et al., 2022). The use of telehealth advances patient status checks for chronic illnesses, more compliance with adhered treatment regimens, and reduced hospitalization from preventable circumstances as established by various researchers (Khera et al., 2020). For instance, virtual consultation has been applied in the assessment of blood glucose in diabetic patients and the blood pressure of patients with hypertension.ย  This paper also claims that while patients may […]

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 2 Conceptual Framework

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 2 Conceptual Framework

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 2 Conceptual Framework Student Name Franklin University MTHD 8004 Professor Name Date ย  Research Paper 2: Conceptual Framework Topic of Interest Telehealth is the future of healthcare and this is because through it, patients and providers are connected as they have been especially in the interior regions (Omboni et al., 2022). This paper investigates the key focuses of telehealth as a capital-intensive intervention with the potential of enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction when confronted with hurdles including geographical barriers, skill deficient staff, and dearth of specialized personnel. The studies of the topic aim at integrating telehealth into health care delivery for a target group of people living in rural areas. To assess the performance benefits of telehealth for patients, such as disease control and emergency treatment โ€“ as well as the non-performance benefits, such as trust and convenience of access โ€“ the study aims to investigate the strengths and weaknesses of this approach. This topic is relevant and topical; it makes a methodological contribution to future research on digital health innovation, and has direct practical implications for the future of rural health services. Theory of the Study The research framework for this study is the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which is the most commonly used theoretical model for predicting the use of new technologies (Katebi et al., 2022). TAM highlights two primary factors influencing technology use: The two variables that were measures are Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU). Perceived Usefulness refers to the attitude towards the effect of using the telehealth to enhance the healthcare delivery system. For example, traditional techniques of patient attendance in rural areas are minimized, quality of specialized care is improved, and timely medical intervention is provided through telehealth. Perceived Ease of Use refers to how complex or simple the challenge of telehealth platforms is in that it should not pose a challenge in terms of complexity to patients or the health practitioners using the platforms. TAM is especially important when discussing travellersโ€™ telehealth service utilisation due to its applicability to the rural healthcare context.ย  We noted that patients and providers in rural areas are likely to have low technological capital and might experience low levels of digital literacy, low or no technological access, and trust issues when it comes to use of technology in healthcare. In line with this research gap, the current study builds upon the technology acceptance model (TAM) by including these contextual factors to examine the way in which telehealth affects patient outcomes and satisfaction levels. By so doing, the research hopes to examine the complexities of enablers and inhibitors that influence telehealth success within the rural context. Conceptual Framework Visual This work has a conceptual framework visual which is used to depict how different variables in this study interrelate. At the pinnacle of the framework, the inputs include; rural healthcare practitioners; patients, and infrastructures, such as the internet, and telemedicine solutions. These inputs affect the mediators which are Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use, which are variables in the Technology Acceptance Model.ย The framework also provides a clear structure for examining the relationships among these elements. The mediators are the enablers of getting there with positive health outcomes such as better chronic care and emergency response and higher patient satisfaction, for instance, convenience and trust. Arrows linking the inputs to mediators and mediators to outcomes characterise the influence flow, asserting that only if telehealth has been perceived as usable and valuable in rural setting it has a substantial impact on the healthcare functioning. ย  Conceptual Framework Explanation A presentation of this research on the telehealth influences on patient outcomes and satisfaction in healthcare facilities in rural contexts falls under the literature of healthcare advancement and digital health change. Telehealth is now being considered as a way to solve existing inequalities in health care, especially in rural settings where availability of some types of health care is scarce. The study uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) for purposes of theoretical frame of reference since this model has been widely applied in the analysis of adoption behaviors towards technologies. TAMโ€™s two constructs of Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use play into the consideration of how telehealth can address such factors that include; geographical accessibility, resource constraints and health workforce scarcity in rural health care setting (Malik & Annuar, 2021). In extending TAM, this research acknowledges the following contextual factors linked with rural points of view: digital literacy, infrastructure access, and cultural perception of remote care. In reviewing these variables, the study furthers the theoretical framework to propose how telehealth effects health outcomes and patient satisfaction. The research also seeks to fill a research gap in that it targets to explore the rural healthcare concerning the telehealthโ€™s adoption. The purpose of this research study includes the following: The assessment of patient outcomes when using telehealth services The examination of telehealth patient satisfaction The exploration of the challenges associated with telehealth implementation in rural settings. This research focuses on the following antecedotes, namely, perceived telehealth usefulness and ease of use and effectiveness of the same in reaching out for the underprivileged cohorts. Thus, the analysis of this relationship adds to the existing body of knowledge on how DH technologies can assist in mitigating. The study advances the understanding of how DH technologies can successfully help address problems in health care accessibility with regard to equity and policy making as well as improve healthcare services in rural regions. MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 4 Participants and Operationalization of Constructs

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 4 Participants and Operationalization of Constructs

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 4 Participants and Operationalization of Constructs Student Name Franklin University MTHD 8004 Professor Name Date Research Paper 4 โ€“ Participants and Operationalization of Constructs Telehealth has simplified health care delivery, particularly to households in rural areas where the constraints include a shortage of health facilities, fewer health care personnel, and expensive transport. This research aims to investigate the effects of telehealth in achieving improved patient outcomes and satisfaction in rural healthcare facilities. The emphasis is on identifying the effect of telehealth on the health of patients with a chronic disease, such as diabetes Type II, hypertension, and heart diseases: recommendation of cultural and technological facilitators of telehealth use in treating patients diagnosed with chronic illnesses. Based on Leininger’s Theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality and the Health Belief Model (HBM), this work aims to contribute to understanding the advantages and shortcomings of telehealth interventions for the rural population. Research Participants The study will target adult patients living in rural areas using telehealth services for not less than three months. Target disease types include diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. These participants are selected for this type of study because rural patients suffer from some type of impediment to getting traditional healthcare services, such as geographical accessibility, the availability of fewer facilities, and the absence of healthcare professionals. Telehealth offers them the chance to do first assessments, constant check-ups, and decreased dependence on costly or unavailable transport to healthcare facilities (Snoswell et al., 2020). Recruitment will occur through approaches to rural healthcare providers who deliver telehealth services to patients with chronic illnesses and who utilize telehealth frequently. The study population will include young and middle-aged people from different cultural backgrounds, as culture and technology familiarisation are key to telehealth services. Such techniques as stratified sampling will help include different ages, both male and female, and different chronic conditions. This way, the study will be able to draw precise conclusions regarding the impact that telehealth has on the health of this population and their level of satisfaction in the short and long term. Engaging participants with varying demographic characteristics also increases the transportability of the study findings for different rural healthcare contexts by controlling for cultural, technological, and health system factors. Operationalization of Constructs Patient Outcomes Telehealth quantitative measures refer to the effects on the health state and propensity to be hospitalized of patients with chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart diseases in rural areas. Concerning the first variable, health status improvements will be evaluated by self-reported health check questionnaires and clinician record data, including blood glucose levels of diabetic patients as well as blood pressure of hypertensive patients (Liu et al., 2019). These measures afford an idea of the degree of compliance and management that telehealth supports clients with various ailments with those conditions. The second variable concerns the number of hospitalizations pre-and post-implementation of telehealth services. The patient’s records will compare the number of hospitalizations. This variable will show whether telehealth significantly minimizes face-to-face consultations, especially during exacerbating chronic conditions. Lastly, patients with chronic conditions will be assessed by their compliance with the recommended treatment plans and the frequency of their follow-up telehealth consultation meetings. Telehealth’s effectiveness will primarily be assessed according to patient compliance with prescribed treatment plans and how frequently and effectively they communicate with clinicians remotely. These variables will collectively be subjected to studies to reveal the relationship between the variables and how telehealth has a positive impact on chronic disease management in a rural context. Patient Satisfaction Patient satisfaction investigates the rural patient’s perception regarding the quality, accessibility, and cultural appropriateness of telehealth services. The first variable, the convenience of access, shall be captured via a questionnaire that compares the availability and convenience of accessing telehealth to regular in-person appointments. This will help understand telehealth’s role in removing transportation burdens and other issues that rural patients might face. The second variable of the study is the quality of care, which is the patients’ level of satisfaction assessed. These surveys shall assess the quality of care delivered through telehealth implementation, the healthcare professionals’ human responsiveness, and the telehealth systems’ technicality. This variable will try to measure patients’ confidence in the use of telehealth as a substitution for direct contact. The third variable, the cultural relevance of care, is derived from Leininger’s theory and refers to the extent to which the telehealth services reflect patients’ cultural values and preferences on care, their cultural beliefs, and communication. Telehealth users will be asked to complete questionnaires and interviews to assess how comprehensively the elements have been incorporated into care. These factors will be checked on a Likert scale of 5 to measure all the necessary aspects of telehealth and determine how it meets the needs and expectations of the patients in these rural settings. Cultural and Technological Factors This construct aims to identify the enablers and constraints of telehealth implementation for rural patients. The first variable of the study is technology familiarity, which will be captured among the patient participants through self-administered questionnaires that test their comfort level and usage of telehealth devices and applications (Weaver et al., 2020). Telehealth barriers occur when patients do not have access to platforms appropriate to their skill level. The second variable, cultural alignment, will be assessed qualitatively using interviews and questionnaires in an attempt to determine the level of congruity between the patients and the telehealth services regarding their cultural beliefs and values. This variable speaks to cultural competence in care while also pointing at the need to offer telehealth that meets the hopes and necessities of people living in rural regions. The third variable, perceived barriers, will be investigated using a structural component of the health belief model (HBM). This variable concerns patients reframing telehealth as lacking some aspects, which include privacy, human touch, and perceived work productivity (Kum et al. et al., 2023). Thus, it is possible to study these factors and suggest increasing the availability and relevance of telehealth services for rural populations. […]

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 1 Topic Selection

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 1 Topic Selection

MTHD 8004 Assignment Research Paper 1 Topic Selection Student Name Franklin University MTHD 8004 Professor Name Date ย  Topic of Interest The Impact of Telehealth on Patient Outcomes and Satisfaction in Rural Healthcare Settings Summary of the Topic The use of Telehealth has become one of the most important models of health care delivery, especially for the population in rural areas and other remote places, where it is not possible to organize traditional inpatient care. Remote consultations, health monitoring and digital follow-ups otherwise referred to as Telehealth appears to offer a solution to healthcare inequalities. For rural consumers, telehealth provides opportunities for early medical assistance, less transportation load, and constant care for chronic diseases. The purpose of this research is to assess the telehealthโ€™s effects on the patients including health status changes and hospitalization frequency as well as patient satisfaction in rural contexts. The study will seek to know if there has been a change in the quality of health care provided to the rural patient after the adoption of telehealth technology to determine its efficiency in delivering equal health care services. Theory Driving the Study The framework for this research is rooted in Leiningerโ€™s Theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality. It was created by Madeleine Leininger at the University of South Carolina and encompasses cultural aspects of a patientโ€™s life focusing on the patientโ€™s environment, beliefs, and values. However, telehealth raises cultural and technology concerns that could affect the applicability of the intervention for diverse rural people. Leiningerโ€™s theory assists in situating the study by emphasizing the provision of cultural relevant telehealth services based on patientโ€™s preferences and technological application familiarity. Furthermore, the HBM will facilitate knowledge of how patientโ€™s belief systems regarding telehealth impact their receptiveness and use of such services. This model posits that patientโ€™s perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits and perceived barriers do influence the health behaviours and health outcomes Patientsโ€™ perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers influence health behaviours and health outcomes. Population of Interest Patients who are eligible for this study are rural patients that are using telehealth services to manage their chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, and heart diseases. Telehealth is useful in rural communities since they are likely to experience constrains such as low health facilities, fewer healthcare professionals and patients may be unable to afford transportation costs. Access to consistent telehealth services may also help rural patients maintain regular communication with healthcare providers. The participants in the study will be adult patients from rural care backgrounds who have had a telehealth session for at least three months, to provide enough data to compare both short term and long term effects on patient satisfaction and outcomes. Consequently, this research proposal will analyze how the level of telehealth services affect the health status and perceived satisfaction among rural patients, which factors of culture and technology can influence this group. This work uses Leiningerโ€™s Theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality together with the Health Belief Model to explore which practices can be best applied to offer telehealth in the rural context for the benefit of patient care and satisfaction. The findings of this study would be beneficial to nursing and medical professions through determination of advantages and possible disadvantages of using telehealth in healthcare delivery system in remote areas.

The coding process includes defining themes and patterns of respondentsโ€™ answers to several questions on their experiences with telehealthย (White et al., 2022). Six questions in total were examined and the answers were grouped into unique code categories. Number of Codes Categorization of codes by six questions produced 25 discrete codes in total. These codes cover a wide range of concerns such as convenience, technology problems, limitations and recommendations on adjustments. Frequencies of Codes The most common code that arose frequently in the questions was โ€œConvenienceโ€ which was shown as telehealthโ€™s benefit of saving time according to the respondents. Engagement was also seen which expressed that some users were disinclined to use the services of telehealth so far others shared positive experiences from their sideย (Liptrott et al., 2020). The need for telehealth to be easier to use or more basic was seen when the respondents were asked. How can telehealth be improved for elderly patients, some of the answers assumed comprise Technology Improvement and Simplified Navigation (TISIM).ย  Discussion of Findings The findings show that people are grateful for the telehealth service based on the time and cost-saving options. However, they remain suspicious about the quality of telehealth services in contrast to the face-to-face interaction within the code scepticism. For elderly patients, respondents also reported many issue areas revolving around technology and wayfinding which is why technology improvement and simplified interface were frequently mentionedย (Son, 2022). The respondents hold a positive perception concerning telehealth services and only 4% of the respondents expressed that they would not recommend other elder persons to use those services. We also classified some of the cases as conditional recommendations, where several users stated that telehealth is appropriate if there are enough technological resources accessible. Conclusion The analysis further confirmed that telehealth is perceived as a useful modality to administer care in elderly patients but the technology and usability must be advanced. This preliminary study forms the groundwork for a future examination of how the concept of telehealth services can be developed to deliver effective services to elderly patients. MTHD 8003 Assignment Final Research Paper

MTHD 8003 Assignment Final Research Paper Student Name Franklin University MGMT 8003 Professor Name Date Final Research Paperย  The integration of telehealth in home healthcare for elderly patients and it is important because telehealth offers significant potential to improve healthcare access and convenience for elderly patients. But challenges such as technology barriers must be addressed to ensure its effectiveness and accessibility. The topic of this paper focuses on the use of telehealth in home healthcare settings for elderly patients. It explores the challenges elderly patients face when using telehealth services, such as technological difficulties, and how these issues impact the quality of care and patient satisfaction. The problem statement addresses the need to enhance telehealth services to better accommodate elderly patients’ needs, ensuring they can access and benefit from remote healthcare effectively. This assessment will examine existing challenges, identify patterns in patient experiences and propose solutions to optimize telehealth for elderly populations in home healthcare environments. Research Problem Telehealthcare has become one of the significant solutions in the system of healthcare services. It is especially significant after the COVID-19 pandemic because the infected elder individuals can get professional help and needed medical assistance without going out. The elderly are likely to encounter unique barriers to telehealth options, such as technology dilemmas and limited trust in remote results and services. The research problem of this study is to assess how these challenges affect the quality and satisfaction of elderly patients within home healthcare. This research aims to prove a conceptual framework that can help in improving the solutions that are related to telehealth services for elderly patients. It emphasizing the improvement of telehealth services, accessibility, experience and patient satisfaction with the services provided. Three research questions are: What impact has telehealth had on the quality of healthcare received by elderly patients under home health services? What are the key barriers presented to elderly patients who wish to use telehealth?ย  What can be done to make telehealth services more available to people and more satisfying for patients? The findings of this study will be useful to healthcare practitioners and policymakers to understand how telehealth could be made useful to the elders who are the most vulnerable but can benefit a lot from remote care. Relevant Background of the Research Site This study aims to explore the implementation of telehealth among elderly patients who require home healthcare services in which the use of telehealth has grown. Due to their immobility and a regular necessity for healthcare services, elderly patients can reap several advantages from using telehealth. The idea of using telehealth in this population is not very agreeable due to issues including the increased use of technology and unfamiliarity with devices. They examine home healthcare contexts in which patients receive various services including periodic check-ups, long-term condition checks and telemedicine among others. Telehealth can be described as having the potential to enhance the available or available healthcare for those who may not be able to attend demanding in-clinic visits. This work will highlight the areas of limitation and research gaps that must be filled to enhance the delivery of telehealth for elderly patients. Although previous telehealth studies indicate that technology should be easy to use, elderly patients require education. It caregivers should provide better support, so that healthcare can be delivered remotely. Research Design and Methods The current study employed a qualitative paradigm to gain insight into the encounters and challenges of telehealth services for elderly patients, caregivers, and healthcare givers in-home care(Vincent et al., 2022). Telehealth is a complex and personal issue and the choice of a qualitative approach to assess its adoption is justified. The most common means of data collection adopted in this study was the use of the open-ended questionnaire that was completed by elderly patients and healthcare professionals with direct use of telehealth. The open-systems theory was used to analyze the use of telehealth services by elderly patients. This theory sees healthcare as a system that strongly operates concerning its environment, and conditions such as technology and patient education that affect the systemโ€™s performance(Vincent et al., 2022). It is by considering this interaction that the study seeks to identify ways through which the telehealth system can be enhanced to suit the needs of elderly patients. Data Collection Plan The data collection strategy for this study was developed with an emphasis on surveying elderly patients, carers and other healthcare workers having experience with telehealth in home care(Watt et al., 2021). I used Google Forms to administer open-ended surveys from which the data was gathered. Telehealth experience, frequency of use, barriers, and recommendations are experiences that participants were asked to share. The questions in the survey were of structured and unstructured form to enable an extensive collection of the views of both parties. Key open-ended questions included: There it is possible to understand which aspects were found most useful or problematic.ย  Telehealth services can be reduced and increased depending on the needs of the elderly patient, and how can they become more effective for the clients(Khoshrounejad et al., 2021). The data collection process took several weeks to capture a sufficient number of respondents with various levels of familiarity with telehealth. Data Collection Instruments The primary source of data collection employed in this study was a questionnaire that was aimed at providing more qualitative data about the participantsโ€™ telehealth experiences(Ghorayeb et al., 2021). This instrument was intended to be easy to use because many elderly patients may find it difficult to deal with gadgets. It began with a brief questionnaire, conducted through Google Forms, in which participants could provide extensive feedback on the specific services that they received through telehealth. The instrument was designed to capture the following: Frequency of use of telehealth service (such as; never, hardly ever, often). That is, their clientโ€™s level of satisfaction with the service is high or low. Issues of technology or the quality of care(Ghorayeb et al., 2021). Recommendations for telehealth to enhance the experience of patients with special attention on the elderly. […]
