Expert Reviews and Test Run

The purpose of the project is to understand what U.S. supply chain managers think about temporary strategies to implement transformational leadership ideas and use digital technologies to build a more resilient workforce, increase agility in operations, and become more responsive to supply chain disruptions. The statements were further to be reviewed by experts, and a pretest carried out to make sure that the interview questions would be highly relevant to the purpose of the project. The interview guide was reviewed by three experienced professionals to ensure that the questions to be used were relevant, clear, and able to elicit the required insights. Moreover, the interview guide had formative feedback to sharpen and make improvements on the interview process.

Expert Review Selection

Three specialists who had a great level of experience in the fields related to the interview questions were selected to assess the interview questions. Two of the reviewers were experts in the subject matter with firsthand experience in supply chain management, as well as business administration and transformational leadership. The third reviewer was a specialist in the methodology of leadership and organizational change, and whether the questions would provide data that is rich, valid, and applicable.

Conducting Expert Review and Test Run

The interview guide was reviewed by three experts. The questions were evaluated by

 Dr. _____ and Dr. ____ to fit the objectives of the study and to make sure the professors will be able to cover the main focus of the research, which is the incorporation of transformational principles of leadership and digital technologies in the case of supply chain disruption. Dr.__ paid attention to the strength of the methodology of the questions and evaluated the ability to obtain meaningful and reliable data. The reviewers had good comments and recommendations, and there were changes in language, organization, and sense to make sure that it is consistent with the three desired outcomes: to increase the resilience of the workforce, improve operational agility, and organizational responsiveness. There was a pilot test that involved a simulated participant who was a representation of the target group of mid-to-senior-level supply chain managers. The mock interview was quite helpful in finding out possible uncertainties, the flow of the conversation, and evaluating the appropriateness of the questions. Test runs also help to point out issues that may not be identified by the expert review, such as participant interpretation, timing, and probing question success. This theme of expert review and test run helped in achieving the final version of the interview guide that was both methodologically suitable and tailored to fulfill the project goals.

Feedback and Observation

The interview questions were mostly in line with the project objectives, according to the three subject matter professionals who went through the reviews. The strategic feedback provided by the first reviewer, Dr.____, was that there was a necessity to make sure that there was a clear alignment of the interview questions and project questions. Dr.___ recommended against questions that will give the participants an opportunity to answer by simply saying no and to reformulate the questions to get a more detailed conversation. One of the recommendations is how questions concerning disrupting the supply chain should be changed to certain questions that discuss components of transformational leadership and the functioning of the approach during crisis situations. Dr. ____ observed that the questions should specifically emphasize how the aspects of leadership can be integrated with the digital capabilities to make workforce and operations resilient. The instructions emphasized the necessity to ensure that the interview questions were narrowly reduced in order to gather data responding directly to the project question, instead of delving into tangential issues about disruptions.

Dr.____, the second reviewer, has made some key discrepancies in the purpose statement and the project question on the desired outcomes. She said that, although the point was dedicated to the creation of resilience, operational agility, and responsiveness of the organization, the initial project question should have been the building of workforce resilience and operational resilience. Dr.____ suggested that in all aspects of the research, consistency is imperative, such as the particular business problem and the gap in practice. The professor also provided more particular guidance on how to formulate questions to deal with leadership ideals and technologies, instead of disruption stories. An illustration is that Dr. ____ offered to paraphrase the first question to ask the participants to express the principles of transformational leadership used in case of disruption, and then continue the probing questions about how the principles were used to build a resilient force of workers.

Dr. ____ the third reviewer said that the interview questions were appropriate and appropriate to the methodology and design of the study. Dr. _____ assured that the questions would not make the participants suffer and that they would be appropriate in getting valuable responses. The use of structured follow-up questions that were introduced and proposed by the reviewer to use at least two probing questions as a follow-up to each main question was especially commended as a form of probing the data. The combination of the work of three expert reviewers, the refining of the interview questions, making them more purposeful, better organized, methodologically sound, and strategic to apply to the disruption enabled me to reach the purpose of the project to explore how supply chain managers can integrate transformational leadership with digital technologies to become more resilient and organizationally responsive to the disruption.

Reflection

The preparatory process was formative, whereby the questions to be used in the interview were developed as a result of the reviews by experts, and a test run before the real data collection took place. With these preliminary considerations laid down, it was possible to influence the process of making changes and improvements with every passing round of revision. The reviewers came up with areas of non-congruency and ambiguity in the interview guide and gave constructive suggestions on how the questions could be restructured so that the statements answered the project question directly. The feedback reaction ensured that the queries were specific, narrow, and capable of producing rich and constructive responses on the research subjects by the interviewees regarding the combination of transformational leadership and exploitation of digital technology in cases of supply chain disruption.

Conclusion

The expert-run test and the review were also crucial in that the interview questions aimed at the purpose of the project and the research question were in balance. The professionals chosen possessed knowledge of supply chain management, business management, leadership, and organizational change, alongside methodological knowledge needed to evaluate qualitative research tools. The three professional experts were involved in the interview guide as they critically examined it from various perspectives. The analysis of the interviews conducted with the experts was necessary since the interview questions were methodologically and ethically sound. The data would be produced by the feedback and would directly respond to how the supply chain managers would integrate the principles of transformational leadership and digital technologies in creating a workforce resilience system, enhancing their operational agility, and organizational responsiveness during disruptions.
